“We were hiking the GR30 and the weather didn't look great and I had leg problems. We opted for hotel accommodation instead of camping. A quick check with the tourism office told us they had rooms available. The owner welcomed us ans showed us our room which was lovely and modern; comfortable bed, thoutghful furnishings and lovely views. Despite being on a D road, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The owner kindly supplied ice for my leg at about 20:30 in the evening, he was also delivering something to another room! The self service breakfast was very good, as many hot drinks as you wish, nice local produce and home made goods such as fruit salad, cake and some very nice jam. We were given a discount for staying another night. There is no restaurant but the village is about 7mn walk away and has plenty. We loved the Fondues du Sancy, loads of options, including for vegetarians and warm welcome. Highly recommend this hotel.”
“We were two English motorcyclists looking rough from a long ride in rain. We did not look promising guests. But the welcome was everything we could have wished for. Emilia and Cyril are perfect hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The bedrooms are large, spotless and well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable. The buffet breakfast really excellent…though the coffee machine does not serve the best coffee. The proprietors even managed to wash and dry our riding clothes. First class all round. The location, just on the outskirts of the lovely town of Besse, is just perfect…a wonderful base for exploring this very beautiful region. Thank you Emilia and Cyril”
